I read the chain with interest since I have been fighting the same issue on
my machine. What is interesting (at least to me) is that I am running a
much older release of Ubuntu Lucid with a 2.6.32-71 kernel. I¹m not in
the habit of rebooting very often so this issue may have existed fo
ices that do not implement function 0.

the following error when using the ADF:

When using the keyboard language switcher in kde the
arrow keys malfunction. The arrow keys no longer work
and the up arrow key tries to take a screenshot. Even
worse is after rebooting the computer and logging
This bug is fatal to the etch net installer, as it causes it to hang
forever because it wants to change /etc/networks.
