Hi,
I had the same problem, and I noticed from the list sent there was the
GTK+ version from experimental. I was using it too, and since I
downgraded it, alongside with pango, to the version in unstable, it just
stopped crashing. So it is probably a problem with GTK or pango.

The attached patch should fix this bug, it contains also a couple of
other fixes. Overall :
-it removes the 'autotools' target, which did nothing.
config.{sub,guess} are copied by calling autogen.sh anyway.
-stop calling 'autotools' and 'configure-stamp' before 'clean

Apparently, the bug with the libccscript disappeared with the transition
to g++ 4.0, so it should be ok to close this bug when the gcc-4.0 build
package will be uploaded.
However, bayonne FTBFS with g++ 4.0. If you didn't already have them,
patches are attached :
- Fix 1 is for friend classes
