FYI, gnome-games 2.14.0 fixes this bug (with the same
patch that i sent).
Since we're uploading GNOME 2.14 into Debian sid, i
think you can close this bug after upload gnome-games

FYI, it seems that applying those two patches below over the
latest evo in Debian really fix the bug. It was confirmed
