Currently, the problem is not happens in Buster,
it disappeared with some updates.

Hi, I confirm this problem.
I have received precisely same error after upgrade to version 1.98-1 (I
do not remember from what version).
At grub-pc configure there were errors (grub-probe).
Then I (by grup-pc recommendation) have executed update-grub and
rebooted the system.
