i've just released v3.0.10 of notcurses, which fixes this
upstream. i'll package it up ASAP (almost certainly today), and

On my system, the cross compiler 'gcc-14-aarch64-linux-gnu:arm64' is
installed on Trixei using amd64.
My guess is that the build configuration of the cross compiler uses the
local assembler, instead of the aarch64 cross assembler.
