I figured out how to log into the porter box, and tried:
running the tests with dbus-test-runner, inserting a sleep in the dbus test

If you look closely at the log it "downloads" from
/usr/share/maven-repo. It isn't fetching jars from a remote repository
but copy them from the local repository.
I confirm that scala depends on itself. Did you remove it from the build
dependencies?
