I used to have the same problem, but now that I tried OpenBVE again
after a while, it starts and runs nicely. I suppose the bug was not in
the openbve package itself, but rather in some other package which has
been updated since then.
Hopefully it works
Downgrading libgtk-3-0 and it's friends to 3.16.6-1 "fixes" the issue.
