I was able to start X by adding the following configuration file to
xorg.conf.d :
Section "Device"
Identifier "Intel Graphics"
Driver "intel"
Option "Accel" "false"
Option "DRI" "false"

Xorg fails to start on my laptop after a recent update. When lightdm
