Hi,
I just had a look at the mediawiki2latex source code and found that the
formular for epub documents are prepared using the latex2png command
which is part of the latex2rtf package. So please make sure the
latex2rtf package is installed on your system.

Hi,
the -k option is not intended to be used on Wikibooks. For Wikibooks you
usually start with the print version. For some Wikibooks using -m or -i
can be useful when creating LaTeX version. The option -k was intended
for books in Wikipedia Book namespace like

/tmp/Haskell.epub -i
with calibre installed still fails as before.

Hi,
in deed calibre is requierd to generate epub files. As is libreoffice
for odt files.
latex2rtf or something like that was needed to make raster image form
latex formulas, although I am currently unsure about the exact detail.

No, it wasn't. I see that it is a "Recommends". I now wonder whether I
might also need latex2rtf, although that isn't so obvious.

adding the -b flag
