Oops, I was a bit careless. Let me clarify: the patch in my PR is not
from the actual upstream for the package, but rather from the fork [1]
linked to by Thomas Koch in #959729 [2].

I've cherry-picked the upstream fix as a patch in the gspr/bug-959364
branch of https://salsa.debian.org/gspr/acpi-call.git. It fixes the
problem for me.
