I can confirm the same problem with a profile name containing 'ß'. The
config file .config/terminator/config is correctly encoded as UTF-8.
Removing the letter resolves the problem.
Got it: it comes from the accent in my terminator profile name
"Présentation".
I rewrote it as "Presentation" and it all works…
