I'm experiencing the same crash, same backtrace, etc., however with one
nuance: I've narrowed it down to Noto Serif Bengali as being the
problematic font.
Worked around by adding the following to my ~/.emacs:

Control: reassign -1 libotf0
Control: retitile -1 libotf0: crash on rendering Kannada script (affects Emacs)
