Same here on DELL PowerEdges with megaraid_sas.
Find a bootlog of a successful boot with the previous kernel attached.
(The symbol errors seem to be related to the kernel downgrade.)

I am seeing this issue with one system that has a 3ware RAID card. I had to
revert back to the linux-image-3.16.0-4-amd64_3.16.43-2+deb8u5_amd64.deb
package to get the system to boot.
