The description of the problem closely matches the above bug, so I'm
going to try applying the patch to see what happens. I think this
would have broken at around the time spim was rebuild against a more

Hi,
If someone want the CLI part of xspim to be in stretch, here is
a patch that remove xspim from the package (and so close this bug).
Not using it myself, I wont ask the release managers for a freeze
exception myself nor upload the package with this patch.

Given that:
- this program has the same version has jessie (just a binary rebuild)
- the non-gui part seems working fine
- the gui part seems to have an easy workaround (xspim -font 6x10)
I do not think the reported bug must be release critical.

I can confirm the broken GUI.
I had to run "xspim -font 6x10" to get it to launch, as per a comment
at the end of this Ubuntu issue, a different issue to #670949:
