Moreover, if I try to patch the library adding this:

gi.require_version("Gtk", "3.0")
I don't get the Gtk error, but still get a segmentation fault. This was
also reported on Launchpad (https://bugs.launchpad.net/geis/+bug/1695998)

Hi, I am also getting this error, which makes the tool unusable.
Moreover, this seems to affect sid and stable, and has got no replies
since February..
