I would like to second this request, please. I filed (or patched) some
of these bugs, but someone downgraded them from the RC level. They are
on my list of open items for bullseye: I pl
Hi Salvatore,
I have a merge request
(https://salsa.debian.org/kernel-team/nfs-utils/-/merge_requests/5) open
on nfs-utils. This merge request was marked as WIP due to possible porting to
nfs-utils 2.4.1.
However, as bullseye froze softly, a switch to nfs-utils 2.4.1 seems unlikely.
I CCed all

Thanks so much for picking up these old and unnecessary bugs.
I run stable everywhere and may not have an easy easy to way to test
your fixes, but I applied the patches from my comments manual
Hi all,
I hopefully fixed these bugs in my Debian bullseye package. Could you
all test 1:1.3.4-5~RC5. This can be found for AMD64 under

If you use another architecture, you have to compile from source.

Hi Felix
I was working through the list of release critical bugs on
nfs-utils and looked at this bug report:
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=846950 where you
increased the severity to "grave" some time ago. But you did not
explain how
The last upgrade broke my installation, so I am raising the severity to RC.
The same issue is for GSSDARGS which is used starting rpc.gssd according
to /lib/systemd/system/rpc-gssd.service .
/usr/lib/systemd/scripts/nfs-utils_env.sh talks in a comment about
RPCGSSDARGS in contrast but does not expose either variable.
rpc.gssd needs the -l option to be used with kerberize
Hi Joachim,
Thank you! As you pointed out, a similar issue exists with rpc.svcgssd but
that daemon honors the default keytab location specified in /etc/krb5.conf.
The systemd service file simply tests for the wrong condition. Since our
issues are related but different, I am cloning the bug. A patc
Dear all,
both RPCSVCGSSDOPTS and RPCGSSDOPTS from /etc/default/nfs-common are not
correctly propagated
into /run/sysconfig/nfs-utils by /usr/lib/systemd/scripts/nfs-utils_env.sh.
I have attached a patch for nfs-utils_env.sh. Note that
RPCSVCGSSDOPTS must be propagated to SVCGSSDARGS and
not to
Hi,
Sebastian's point is also addressed in #849608 ('keytab location is
hardcoded to /etc/krb5.keytab'). Pursuant to the maintainer's request from
December 15, I will try to merge both reports.
Best regards,
Felix

Hi,
even though RPCGSSDOPTS is not documented or explicitly exposed in
/etc/default/nfs-common, it’s used by the init script and I have been
relying on it for a while. After switching to nfs
