Although there is no feedback at all yet I hope someone reads this:
As the problem occurs with kde and the option "no splash screen" may this bug
better be placed in the kde area? But which package?
Or should it be filed under xrender?

Some more information:
The problem (X-server crashes on user login) only arises, if "xrender" is
selected and the option "kein Startbildschirm" (=no splash screen) is
selected.
As long as I select something else than "xrender" (e.g. OpenGL 3.1) in
"Arbeitsflächen-Effekte" (=desktop effects?) o
I now found out which option is causing the trouble:
If I use 'Xrender' on the 'Erweitert' Tab of 'Arbeitsflächen-Effekte
einrichten'
in 'Systemeinstellungen' in KDE, I cannot login to KDE.
Switching to 'OpenGL 3.1' allows me to login again.
