This can be solved with a simple configuration change:
1. open "/etc/vnstat.conf"
2. locate the "Interface" keyword
3. replace eth0 with wlan0
4. save and close the file
It is however a valid point that the error message should at least be more
verbose in that case or if possible, vnStat should
