Dear maintainer,
could this be fixed one or another way? Trying to get sntp when needed
is pain. "sntp" binary is shown across all utils I can use to search
through available packages, but the binary is not installed.
This is really confusing
thank you!
-- apt-file search sntp
ntp: /usr/bin/snt
Package: ntp
Version: 1:4.2.8p9+dfsg-2
Followup-For: Bug #793837
Also, besides breaking ntpsweep, the package currently includes the
sntp(1) manpage, so it's being half-shipped.
If you're not going to ship sntp, probably should remove its manpage
(and ntpsweep) from the package as well.

Any update on this? It is a pain to not have an easy
tool to query a time server for a sanity check...

Dear Maintainer,
Please include sntp in the ntp package. ntpdate is going the way of the dodo
very soon.
sntp is a useful diagnostic tool. I am not sure why it has been decided that
sntp should not be in the debian package.
