But the current package refers to the 3.12 branch which is, for the
most part, compatible with 3.14.
There is no official release yet for the gnome-3.14 branch.
Upstream author is currently working on that.

I tried sources from github (for gnome 3.14) but there are some
dependencies issues:

After restarting gnome-shell, Pomodoro appears in gnome-shell extensions
list and I can activate it.
Problem solved, but other users may find the installation process a bit
awkward.

On unstable, there are issues with gnome-shell 3.14 that just arrived
few days ago in sid.
I use it in testing on amd64 for some time now without any issue.
Did you try to restart your gnome after installation? (Alt+F2 and type r)
Did you tried to set it

'ps aux | grep pomodoro' shows that it's been launched
