Dear Maintainer,
just dropping a note that this also affects one more person.
I'd also increase the importance --- as for many users this could make system
unusable, and it is really hard do pinpoint real issue here.

Same problem under gnome-session-flashback.
Disabling the cursor plugin with dconf also helped here (after restart).

I experienced the same problem after starting gnome-settings-daemon in
KDE.
The dconf command described by Joachim Breitner also fixes the
problem for me.

Hi,
since upgrading from 3.8.5-2+b2 to 3.12.2-1, my mouse pointer was
invisible after login. I was able to fix this by calling
$ dconf write /org/gnome/settings-daemon/plugins/cursor/
