I think we can call this fixed by upstream's addition of support for -w: (4.2.7p461) 2014/08/14 Released by Harlan Stenn * [Bug 1128] ntpq truncates "remote" host information. https://bugs.ntp.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1128: ntpq -n output truncates IPv6 addresses ... perhaps taking Ubuntu's patch:
