Hi,
The "reassigned" bts command used on 03 Mar 2015 discarded the
previous version information. I fixed it so that this bug shows
itself as not-fixed in the stable (jessie) version.
For myself, I've build a backported version of the current
unstable version.
But I think that this bug wou

Hi Simon,
please choose a proper subject next time -- and not just the bug number.

This bug is really annoying. It has been fixed in recent version of Ubuntu:

We deploy debian images inside VMs and it'd be nice to be able to use virtio
networking... any chance that RedHat or Ubuntu's patch could make its way
into Debian?

Hi,
So this bug has been known and ignored by upstream for more than
four years now, and there's at least three separate bugs tracking
it in the Debian BTS, including #652739, which after finally being
forwarded upstream, appears to have again just been ignored by them.
Both Redhat and Ubuntu ar

dhcpd is using RAW sockets to work with Ethernet packets. (DHCP is used
to configure IP, so it has to work on a lower level than IP.)
RAW sockets bypass the kernels I
Having pondered this for a while, it's more complex than I at first
thought. UDP checksums are optional (for IPv4) according to RFC 768:
"If the computed checksum is zero, it is transmitted as all ones (the
equivalent in one's complement arithmetic). An all zero transmitted
checksum valu

thanks
Hi,
so this bug is caused by the virtio driver not populating the UDP checksum and
thus dhcpd complains about this, see
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/isc-dhcp/+bug/930962
for more background and a patch for dhcpd.
From a user perspective the workaround is
Package: isc-dhcp-server
Version: 4.2.4-7
Severity: normal
So I run debian 7.0 in two libvirt handled virtual machines.
they both use virtio driver for network.
one is a dhcp server the other is dhcp client.
now what I see on the server is the following error on syslog.
dhcpd: 5 bad udp checks
