Hi again,
Also note downgrading gconf2 to stable brought additional problems for me
so I put gconf2 back to testing, sorry for all the messages.

Hi,
Please disregard the information about packages breaking I seem to have
some other issue at work that may be completely unrelated. Downgrading the
packages as I noted above does fix the warning though.

Hi,
I've recently encountered this error as described by the bug reporter. This
error needs to fixed asap in my opinion. Many of my programs seem to run
gconf2 postinst when the gonf2 fails they get marked as broken by aptitude.
See below:
$ sudo aptitude reinstall pidgin
The following packages
Package: gconf2
Version: 3.2.6-1
Severity: normal
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA256
When gconftool-2 is called in the postinst script, it cannot connect to
the session bus as apt-get update does not have an X11 display
available:
(gconftool-2:27994): GConf-WARNING **: Client failed
