There is upstream activity, at http://xgraph.org, which I'm looking into.
If nothing happens I think the package can go, but please queue this
up another few weeks...

How about something like this patch. It removes the DO_DER code via repack.
I've left the code tagged PW in for now - reading the copyright
message it specifically discusses routines so perhaps these aren't
covered. They would still need to be examined though.
