This was 8 years and 4 Emacs major releases ago.
If this is still an issue with Emacs 27.1, I suggest opening a new report with
upstream directly.

I tried doing exactly the same (so without using my .emacs file).
By just pressing the arrow key to scroll either left or right or up and down I
was at
random times getting 100% CPU usage, although the recovery was a lot quicker
than
the very long hangs I was getting with my previous us

Can you explain how I might reproduce this? Here's what I tried:

and I didn't see any
