Running with "MOZILLA_DISABLE_PLUGINS=1 iceweasel -safe-mode" as myself does not seem to affect the problem. I'm trying now with a new .mozilla folder. Additionally, I ran memtest86+ and received no errors on a full test.

Confirming this problem persists with all plugins disabled on both Iceweasel and Chromium (including shell integration plugins). Still have not been able to pin down how to replicate.

Some more news on this topic: 1) I did a complete new install with the actual wheezy release yesterday (2013-01-23) the same way I did it 2 weeks ago. 2) Iceweasel is NOT freezing anymore - its working as expected on the websites (www.bild.de) Assumption what the problem was
