Bug#698060: all better

2013-01-17 Thread mark anderson
Brian, OdyX-- Thanks for your help, the printer got better. Sadly, I don't know exactly what changed, so I can't document what fixed the problem. One thing that may have poked things into success is I pm-suspend my machine every night. That may have disturbed some software package in the right

Brian-- The command: $ dpkg -l | grep "system-config-printer-udev" does in fact return nothing. A quick look in aptitude shows that the package does exist but is not installed. Not that I know what I'm doing, but I installed it anyway and tried the localhost:631 thing but didn't see any differ

Hi mark, I just tested, I can successfully detect and setup my HP printer over USB here: it's therefor not a universal problem and will likely stay "important". Le dimanche, 13 janvier 2013 19.03:01, mark anderson a écrit : > OdyX-- > > Thanks for your very quick response. > $ /bin/ls -al /u

Package: cups Version: 1.5.3-2.12 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, I did a complete wipe and install with Wheezy and cups doesn't recognize nor auto-install my Brother HL-2040. I did a complete wipe and install with Squeeze and it worked great (although it configured as a HL-2060). I hope that
