Dear Maintainer,
It seems that this is being caused by the fact that lxpanel gets run
with an option
--profile LXDE
which, if one runs it on the command line with that, gives the same lack
of visible panel, and this mesage:

I believe this was some crash in that old version of lxpanel which should
not happen anymore in coming version 0.7.1. Thank you very much.
