Hi Luke,
My only advice is: remove ffmpeg/libav from debian-multimedia, install
the ones from debian official, and build yourself ptlib, opal and ekiga.
Take into account
http://wiki.ekiga.org/index.php/Download_Ekiga_sources (unstable
release). You will have H263/4 codecs. It should work.
