I have checked your changes and it looks sane, though I have not
tested the command line option handling. It's interesting to see your
im-launch works now - I tried a similar approach with my co-maintainer
after your last message, but his IM cannot start then...

Hi,
I made a package and uploaded to experimental.
* This removes sleep in some uim GUI initialization.
* Except moving hook script which made postinst a bit complicated,
script itself are made as simple as possible.
This should solve some hard to reproduce GUI program die due to missing
dbus
