this problem was fixed upstream (commit
2f5ea6d425377ab1ac59733a4efc35c5b55655df) in a different way. Your
suggestion is better though and I reverted 2f5ea6d42 and picked your
patch instead (commit c922d74644d9fe4c73d642e66a1dc836e54f517b).
