Since last Debian testing upgrade all X applications have been failing
immediately on X server this old. I can't reproduce the problem
without downgrade. I think, this problem is not relevant for remmina
anymore.

libcairo2-dbg and libxrender1-dbg? Also, it could help if you could
try with latest version of cairo.
