Hi,
I can confirm this bug.
Yesterday i've used Debian Installer 7.0 Beta4 to install Debian
Wheezy 64 bits (GNOME) on my father PC :
It was impossible to set autologin using the GUI, therefore i had to
manually edit /etc/gdm3/daemon.conf
I had the same problem with my own PC when i installed Si
Same thing here.
Autologin only works after editing /etc/gdm3/daemon.conf using Debian Wheezy

I installed debian wheezy (testing) today, with a netinst iso, with default
settings.
Autologin does not work via graphical interface (clic on username on
top right of screen, then clic on "System parameter", then clic on "
This is my daemon.conf file after setting autologin=ON in system settings
and rebooting:
[daemon]
# Enabling automatic login
# AutomaticLoginEnable = true
# AutomaticLogin = user1

It works perfectly for me. Does it add the correct stanzas
to /etc/gdm3/daemon.conf or
Doesn't work for me on sid with all updates. This is after gdm3 was updated
to 3.4. Autologin does nothing and resets itself to "off" for user.

I would be happy to do testing, supply more info, etc.
I think gnome3+polkit still has a lot of kinks to be ironed out. NetworkManager
is also giving me a lot of grief.

I have same problem here. I installed sid today (with debootstrap) and I
cannot autologin with gdm3 ... No error messages or anything, it just
displays login screen and I have to type my password. I've tried both
ways - editing .conf file and through accountsservice - no use :(

Also I can not use auto login on my newly-installed wheezy. I'm using
Chinese environment, so I'm not sure the exact words in English. I might
have opened my account, unlock it, and turn on the auto login function, and
then reboot, but nothing changed, which means I still have to enter
password.

Autologin does not work for me either, not via GUI conf (I unlock, set
autologin, re-lock, logout, restart gdm3, open settings, and autologin has
been unset), nor via editing /etc/gdm3/daemon.conf (setting autologin vars
seems to have NO effect whatsoever).

The autologin feature doesn't work.
This bug was closed after a user reported that it works after "a bunch of
updates",
but my system is fully updated (completely standard fresh wheezy install) and
it still does't work.
