Good news this time. I looked at this problem with strace and I now realize
that the build uses gosmore itself to process lots of data and that takes
longer than I expected. So the loop using 100% cpu is not an endless one. I

It is still giving me an executable without the endless loop.

The package at mentors uploaded there on 2012-09-14 15:53 does not seem to be a
solution. I tried building this package on amd64 and the build entered a loop
using 100% cpu. Output of "debuild -us -uc" attached.
