For me commands with Shift (e.g. Shift-F2 for vertical split) do not work. I
have rxvt-unicode 9.14-1.
Ccing Ryan -- rxvt-unicode maintainer -- to replicate just start byobu and try
to do vertical split (shift-f2). it seems to work fine in

Some f-key bindings do not work when runinng byobu inside urxvt.
Specifically, at least the F8 key binding does not invoke window
renaming as it should. An `O' character is printed instead. The stock
config file for f-bindings defines
