Had this problem in unstable, on Intel H67 integrated video. Fixed with
suckless-tools to 39-1 from experimental.

I have this problem with the Debian version of slock (0.9), but not the
latest vanilla slock from Suckless (1.0). Maybe it can be fixed with an
update?

Well basically slock is executed by xflock4 for locking
