Well I hope soon, as I am now getting several error messages that fly
off the screen and are not captured in any log files because they are
too early in the boot process. Some were from usbmount.

Too late. However before I removed it I find -ls'ed it.
And saw some files from Apr 7, and some from very recently.
Also I tried for a little while rm -f /run;

The only difference in the reportbug template is
/etc/udev/udev.conf changed:
udev_log="err"
Which is now missing, despite it being in
/etc/udev/udev.conf.
I will be happy to send you the results of any test you want me to run.
