Hi Neil,
I've found where is the problem.
There is a file named "gnome-doc-utils.make" in the main directory of
the source tree.
If I build the tree directly, it is fine.
But if I try to rebuilt it a second time it fails with the indicated
message.

Please supply a full build log - there would appear to be a problem in
your build environment because I'm able to build balsa 2.4.1-1 from
source using pbuilder without problems. balsa has also built correctly
for the two binNMU's done for
