Yes this is quite deliberate I'm afraid. smyrna is marked in the
upstream configure as "disabled by default - experimental". That makes
it unsuitable for a stable release.
Once squeeze is released, I'll be happy to consider including it, on the
theory that its bound to be stable in tim
