I can confirm, since ppp 2.4.5 network-manager mobile broadband is working.
Up-to-date Squeeze/Testing.

Hi all,
I carefully read the #592444 bug log: it sums up as "it works with ppp 2.4.5
but
fails with earlier versions".
Now that ppp 2.4.5-4 is in testing (one month ago), is this bug still valid ? I
mean, there are no explicit "breaks", but if the user has its squeeze uptodate,
it should wor
Hello,
I guess that the actual end-user problem persists.
The package has only recommends on a ppp version.
The bug reports show that debian savvy users discovered that manually installing

I confirm the bug too,
and I solve the problem with:

Hello,
I can confirm that this problem, and workaround, happens with the HUAWEI E160 3G
modem too.
The version from unstable repository ppp-2.4.5-4 breaks network-manager-pppt
dependencies, but at least the 3G connection is stablished.

I installed 2.4.5-4 (which has no problematic dependencies) and it
worked again.
I can confirm the same problem with Huawei E1550 3G modem. Modem works
fine under Fedora with NM 0.8.0-999 version. But under Debian Squeeze
NM starts connecting and fails to establish connection.
