removing the upstream version and reinstalling the testing pakages with
sources, I was preparing to remove one patch at time to see where the

By putting usb_modeswitch in verbose mode (flag EnableLogging in
/etc/usb_modeswitch.conf), I was able to see that, when plugging the key
after boot, usb_modeswitch gets the configuration file from the entry
12d1:1446 in /usr/share/usb_modeswitch/configPack.tar.gz.

Yesterday I upgraded to network-manager-gnome version 0.8.1-1 (I think from
0.8.1) and the problem came out again.
