Wouldn't that be the responsibility of the buddy to set his/her own
phone number?

There is an old phone number for a buddy, and I'm unable
to update it with the 'Set User Info' action. I've looked
in my $HOME/.pidgin directory (and all subdirectories) for
where this information could be kept and can't find it.
