These two bugs are definitely not the same. They may have the same symptoms but
the cause is completely different. #586554 (this bug) is caused by a faulty hook

Furtermore, only purging initramfs-tools and reinstalling the package solved
the problem on my box. Is it really a bug of initramfs-tools or a bug
