I have same experience of pdf's printing when I had version
8.71~dfsg2-2.5, but broken again in 8.71~dfsg2-2.6.
PDF's do print however if i set the option of printing with 2 pages per sheet.
Also converting my pdf's to ps enables me to print using evince

First of all thanks for your hard work, but unfortunately there is
something strange. After fix version 2-5 at least my Epson Stylus
started printing from gedit (and other gtk applications). Postscript
printers still got an error. After fix 2-6 none of them is working. I've
tried reinstalling
