Not at all. In general I'm happy to see proposed-updates for any
important-or-higher bugs in samba that you think the SRMs will accept, as
long as you aren't assuming I'll have time to help. :)
I just had a chance to test the upstream patch, and it fixes the bug...
but not all the way.
Directories with suffixes (Like the profile directory for
"OpenOffice.org") get their suffixes stripped (to "OpenOffice").
I'll update this bug as I know more.
The defect is still within mangle_hash.c a
