Nevermind, it turns out I was running an old version of iceweasel. After
purging it (including manually removing some folders) and reinstalling
the gnash plugin, it's working.

Whatever, it doesn't show up in Iceweasel as a plugin (about:plugins
doesn't show it). However, I do have mplayer listed as a plugin for .flv
files. Now the Adobe flashplayer handles
