I have created a patch that fixes this problem and also replaces kaffe
with "default java" as (Build-)Depends.

Hi,
jikes is orphaned, unmaintained, and buggy and therefore we are trying
to remove it from the archive. nice currently
build-depends on jikes-classpath. Could you please try to build with
one of the other java compilers and remove the jikes
