yep, the closing string(s) don't get printed to file when working on
terminal / interactively (on xterm etc), but do get printed to file for
batch works, like 'gnu

bug still present in 4.2.6-1; closing tag doesn't appear on terminal either.

I've been generating SVG output with Gnuplot, to import into
LaTeX files using pdflatex (and hence need to process with rasterizer).
This used to work, today it was crashing. After staring at things
for a while, it is apparent that Gnuplot is not
