These packages need more work until they can go into unstable though.
Jan, maybe we should push kvm88 into experimental although it's

Please, please patch kvm 72+dfsg-5 in squeeze(testing). There is a big dilemma:
The keymap-problem is patched in 85+dfsg-4 from sid(unstable), but kvm
85+dfsg-4 can't start windows-guests due to bugs #533853 and #533586. On the
other hand kvm 72+dfsg-5 has no problems with windows-guests, but is

Good to know our fix actually works. Thanks for the update.

I can confirm this bug in version 72+dfsg-4 (with an fr-be keymap, but I think
it doesn't care).
But it seems to be fixed version 83+dfsg-1.
Tested with Virt-manager and TightVNC VNC viewers.
Command line:
/usr/bin/kvm -S -M pc -m 512 -smp 1 -name test_vm -monitor pty -localtime -
boot c -drive
found 504821 72+dfsg-4
I can confirm this bug for version 72+dfsg-4.
I am using debian Lenny (i686) with virt-manager.
"altgr-<" gives "<", but I expect to get "|".
/usr/bin/kvm -S -M pc -m 512 -smp 1 -name XXxxXXxx -monitor pty -boot c -drive
file=,if=ide,media=cdrom,index=2 -drive
file=XXxxX

What vnc client is this. I just checked with a lenny vm using
virt-manager and and "altgr-<" gave "|" as expected. Can
kvm -m 1024 -k de -localtime -hda /var/kvm/lennytest.img -net nic -net
tap,ifname=qtap0,script=no -vnc xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:1

Using kvm with a german keyboard does not work
properly, the @ and | keys (ALTGR+Q, ALTGR+<)
are not seen in the client machine.
(Tested with the included vnc client from
virt-manager)
This seems to be a qemu related problem,
